I put in a heater today and my Scatta‘s house per Tom‘s instructions on his double door enclosure even though mine is a single I will be removing the heat lamps from above. I’m wondering where I should put the thermometer to the thermostat now that the heater is in the center. The heat pad is currently on the other side. It’s ought to see where the lights are now I don’t want the thermostat to pick up the heat from the heat pad. Thanks for your help.

Personally, I always kept at least 2 thermometers: one for the basking area (warm side) and one for the cool side. I positioned my thermostat probe towards the cool end as well so that my ambient temp never dipped below 80F.
