Are huge to say the least. I measured one of them and it was over 2 feet long.

I was wondering though. I read in another post, and someone mentioned these huge dandelions found in stores, were actually a Dandelion/Chicory "Hybrid"?

Is that what I have here?

If it is, does this stuff have as much oxalic acid as the typical dandelion outside? And I can feed more often, or is it something that I still have to watch out for. I never feed the stem part of these(the lighter color stem in pic #2), and just feed the leafy area.

The bundle.

And the leaf. This was just the very end of it, and was the clearest pic I could get.

I don't have the technical answers to your questions, but I have fed that stuff, stems and all, to dozens of herbivorous reptiles of many different species for many years with no problems whatsoever. I hope that helps a little.

Thanks! I feed it too, but I'm just curious as to how much oxalic acid it has compared to regular dandelions outside.

I just feed the leaf and the flower and I only feed it once a week, it is not good to feed it everyday and yes, you have dandelions :)

I don't think that dandelion is ever called chickory...that would be endive/chickory.

Not a hybrid Rob :p Thats just plain old Chicory. It's got basicly the same amount of oxalic acid as dandelions. It is the supermarket's idea of dandelion. You very seldom get true dandelions in stores. It is possible though to find real dandelions in the spring in stores.
They do sell it under the name of dandelions in stores Yvonne. Than to confuse people more they sell here (east coast) curly endive as chicory. :p

I see so it's just chicory then, thanks. So I guess I still watch out for how much I feed then.
