Thistle or groundsel?

Hello,
Could anyone help my ID this weed that I found in my garden?
I'm hoping it's a thistle but I want to make sure it's not groundsel before I offer it to my tortoise.

It's not groundsel.

It looks like a sow thistle.

It looks like thistle to me too. I have it all over the place. It's very poky and my torts don't eat it

Thanks everyone. Very glad it's not groundsel as I have found quite a bit of it around the garden.
I just showed it to my tort and he bit the buds off straight away. He doesn't seem so keen on the prickly leaves though!
