I think my male must be on something. He's squeaking and on top of the females all the time. Is this normal??

Is this a seasonal thing?

It's normal for a male Hermann's. Especially if the conditions that they're being kept in are close to that of spring or summer. It's unlikely that the females are going to be receptive. It could happen but for the most part males are sexually active sooner and more often than females are. That is one reason that they should be kept seperate if possible when indoors especially. Along with mounting, Hermann's courtship also includes shell ramming and biting of the shell and limbs by the male. Something that can be very stressful to females when confined to a small area where they cannot escape the males constant aggression.

The males are Randy devils.they love nothing more than to mount a female :-D typical man huh !

Breeding is triggered by seasonal changes and conditions. They do not need to be outdoors in order for this to happen. The conditions can be replicated artificially indoors too.
