Looks more like he got poked by a stick or something. I would clean it maybe use a little peroxide on it just once and then put some antibiotic cream on it. Do the cleaning and antibiotic cream daily until healed.

Is it a bite or maybe it scratched itself pulling it head in. My Sulcata has scratch ed himself a few times that way, Maybe it could of walked into a branch on a bush or something.

Only if after you start the care I suggested it gets worse not better.

I don't think he needs to see a vet. Just clean it and dab on a bit of first aid ointment - any brand - like Wellington said.

The vet suggested warm salted water when Jacky grazed herself that way she won't be able to rub it in her eye.

My 18" leopard tortoise beats himself up, constantly! Most of the time this damage comes from his persistent pursuit to break through barriers to assault me.
He's had a gash or 2 here or there and they heal just fine. I rinse it off with the hose (when I first notice it) and don't touch it after that. He's even ripped a few leg scales off and healed up just fine.

As long as you are not soaking her in salted water. The salt though would sting like crazy.
You did it just the one time when it happened right? I wouldn't keep doing it.
