Anyone wanna share some of their tortoises' unique behaviors and habits? I'm curious how diverse they get, and how intelligent they are!
I am a new tortoise owner, and I've noticed that Maya has developed certain habits that she didn't have when I first got her a month ago. I've recently been taking her outside to the yard in the morning, to let her stretch her legs and wander around while I carefully watch her (as I have yet to finish building her pen). At first, she would eat all the clovers she could find in my yard, and some of the grass, and I would offer her a dish of food immediately after returning to her tank. Now, she won't even sample the plants outside, but eagerly devours her food after being brought inside. Additionally, she's begun defecating and urinating exclusively while on her walk, so that her tank is completely devoid of excrement (which is lovely, for me). I had no idea she was going to be so clever! She seems to be a quick learner and I hope she keeps learning and adapting to her new home.
