So today, my new Greek learned how to slide the door to his enclosure open and get out. His enclosure is about 8inches off the ground, so luckily he landed right side up, or corrected himself. Now, my dog is locked in my room, and she has a doggy door to the backyard attached to the slider. Recently she has refused to use the door so I leave the sliding door open with the screen shut ( because she knows how to use her nose to open the screen and get out to the yard). She must have slid the door open, and the tortoise found its way out to the backyard!!! I was at work, and got a text from my dad asking if I wanted him to bring it inside.....here I was thinking it was inside, so I called and asked him what he was talking about and was shocked to find out he made his way out. So glad my dog didn't harm him. Locks have been added to the doors.

He really wants to be outdoors!!

maybe your dog carried her out?

I doubt it. There wasn't any damage and my dog is afraid of both tortoises.
