This morning while soaking Penelope I noticed a little pink/red cut, about a quarter inch maybe less, under her beak. Is a vet visit in order or should I just keep an eye on it. No idea how it happened.

nothing in the enclosure that couldve possibly done it? or another tortoise housed in the same place that couldve inflicted the wound?

Nothing. It is animal proof minus lizards. I'm in FL.. but the lizards are small

oh okay. no need to apologize. i wouldnt go as far as a trip to the vet, at least not yet. give it a bit and be sure to keep watch of it, it should heal fine on its own. obviously, if you dont feel right about it you go right ahead and take her in. but its so minor (or at least it appears so) it should do fine.
