I made this fully insulated house about a year ago for my Sulcata and have just built a new larger house. If you’re in need of an outdoor house and can pick up in west LA let me know.
It has a small hole drilled into the side for an electrical cord to plug in a radiant heat pad. It will take 2 people to move with an SUV or pick up. I put in on a dolly to move it around.

Thats is the perfect house I would think. My guy I believe is to big now. I also have one of those zoo med table houses that mine outgrew years ago sitting in my garage if someone with a smaller tortoise needs a house they would be welcome to it. I like one now like you build but on a slighter larger scale. In time what my daughterand I put together a few years back is holding up. Our its like 5ft high. I should have made it shorter with a lift up roof for easy cleaning now we have to break out backs to get in and throughly clean it. Plus keeping it short helps the heat be consistent..ps I'm in Covington in case anyone wants our zoo-med house.
My Sulcatas are very destructive. I have extra large dog houses with the entrance expanded so they fit. They intentionally ram the wooden sides till they break. I have surrounded the wooden structure with cinder blocks, reinforced with rebar pounded into the ground 6-12” deep. They manage to know them over despite being stacked 3 blocks high! I have a wrought iron fence & gate around their large enclosure. One butthole constantly rams the gate…ultimately he will bend & destroy the gate & latch. I’m at a loss on what to do!
