Hey guys I am very new to the forum, and i have a question to ask. What type of tortoise would be good for people who live in the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey? I was just wondering.

In my opinion, any tortoise you want, as long as you have the room and means to build it a large outdoor heated enclosure. Otherwise, russian, hermanni, Greeks, even pancakes stay small.
But, all tortoises should be able to go outside once it's warm.

Thanks a ton! I was looking at hermanni and I thought they were neat so I am going to go with that. And by the way this is a cool website, I can finally talk to people who like tortoises like I do! this is great!

Hi.
i always advocate greeks through total bias.
Seriously, I think they're comparatively easy to care for, don't get too big and have wonderful personalities.
I think this forum is smashing , too.
Good luck choosing and I'm glad you like the community here.

Hermanni are great tortoises. Hardy, outgoing, pretty, adaptable... I think you will be happy.
