Tortoise pudding

Well it,s been almost a month since I adopted my two girls. I can only imagine what sort of diet they had, because I am having a dickens of a time getting them to "except" a proper diet. So tonight I decided to make turtle pudding, blending some greens in with a banana to entice them a little more. Well it seems to have been a mild success.

They look great! Just be firm, they can go a few days without eating, it won't kill them and they'll likely suck down anything you put in front of them after a day or two of not eating what you've provided previously.

I like the pudding idea. They don't look bad. They also seem to like the pudding.

Just based on the carapace(shell) of the one you can see in the picture, it looks like whatever previous care and food they had was good. It looks really nice. It has that clean, well taken care of, captive bred look to it. Unless I'm mistaken and it's wild caught? Mine will get picky once in a while. It's usually the day or two after a treat like bananas or tomatoes. LIke Redstrike said... be firm.

I make stuff like that often to mix in better choices or expose them to new foods. Mine really accept everything already though and aren't picky at all. Their favorite is a diced frozen strawberry with diced cactus bad. I add calcium to it.

The one has a beautiful shell, nice and smooth. But the other, now pictured fully has some pyramiding to her. It isn't so severe, but i'm a paranoid mama and I just want what's best for them. Thank you for the advice, i'll keep trying to be stern and make sure they eat their vegetables, no if's and's or but's!

Try number two: they've grown up to solids today. Saffron was not so impressed. At least it's some progress, and that's all that matters.
