Hi all! I have a pet tortoise called Squidy and I think he is shedding on his neck. I don't know if they shed or if he is sick but I noticed it under his neck. I didn't want to peel it myself because I think that would be like someone peeling human skin off. Ouch! But is it just shedding? Should I wait for it to come of by itself?

I don't know if you can see it but it's under his neck. Tell me if you need a better pic

It Is just shedding. :)

You shed your skin in tiny bits that become house dust. Snakes do it tidily all in one go.

Torts do it in patches and look downright tatty at times. Don't pull at it or pick it; it will wear off naturally as your tort brushes against things.

No need to moisturise either. This is old dead skin that just has to fall off.
