tortoise suppliers in the uk.

sorry if this is the wrong section i was not sure where it should go. i've decided to let my oldest daughter have a tort of her own. (it has nothing to do with the fact i want another honest lol) could any one recommend or vouch for a breeder/supplier in the uk. preferably in the north west. i'm not sure if i like the idea of having them shipped as it means you cant look at them before deciding. i'm leaning towards greek and hermans. thanks.

Most reptile shops in the uk have hermanns as those and horsefields are seen as best for beginners, its mainly local shops that have torts as oppose to pets at home

thanks for the reply. i found a couple online places that seem like they may be a reliable souce :- http://www.tortoisecentre.co.uk/ and http://www.thetortoiseshop.com/ but i'm aware its not generally a good idea to buy from pet shops. i'm unfamiliar with either of these places so was looking for a recommendation from some one who does. i looked in a couple local shops and was not impresses at all with how they where being kept. one shop had mixed species in a tank and didn't know which where which. apologies if i wasn't meant to name or link to places.

I got my tortoise table from one of those and was going to get my torts from there too but they only did horsefields and I'm not the biggest fan of them....also you can't meet them! Mine were from engsleigh garden centre and all there species are separate
