Tortoise Tails

My Hermann's tortoise has had a lot of poop on it lately and his tail is looking dry, should I clean it off?

If your saying he has poop stuck to and dried onto his tail, then yes it needs to be cleaned off. Try giving him a nice long warm soak and then gently work it off. It does make me wonder what his diet is and even possibly his habitat, if he has poop stuck to his tail. How old is he?
