Hi all

I have a Russian tortoise who is approximately 2years old! When we got him he had been a bit unwell so we took him to the vet and he was treated with antibiotics and a parasite treatment, at that point he weighed 107g. When we took him back about a month later he weighed 127g at that point he received another parasite treatment. Now roughly 3 weeks late he weighs 150g, is this normal? I am worried at the rate he is putting on weight, can anyone give me some advice?

Thank you
Kimberly

That doesn't sound too bad. he may have been a bit underweight before and is now catching up. Unless he starts looking really over-bloated and overgrowing his shell, his weight gain should be fine.

Sounds great. Seems like you've got him healthy and rehydrated now.

Thank you, I was worried because I have read so much about it being bad for them to grow too fast!

Thank you, that puts my mind at ease!
