Do tortoises, in general, eat when they are hungry? My baby didn't want to eat the other day, but ate a ton yesterday, and a little today. Is this normal?

Also I would like to add, if I take her outside, she will eat clovers and other weeds...
Yeah.
My Tidgy sometimes eats so much i think she will burst, mostly a moderate amount and occasionally just a little or even nothing.
Sometimes they go off a particular food and go crazy for something new which in turn they may get bored of eventually.
They don't overeat if they've got enough room to exercise, they just seem to eat when they feel like it or get hungry.

Their appetites certainly have ups and down, but this can also be an indicator of a problem, or of food preferences.
What are your four temps and what equipment are you using to achieve these temps? Any UV? What type? Red bulb for night? Share any other pertinent care info, so that we might spot a potential problem.
