Hi
Where I live, it is getting very cold so the only way to keep Darwin's (a Greek) enclosure warm enough is to have his big light on most of the time. However, this largely decreases the humidity. So I was was wondering if there was any way too trap the humidity or to keep it humid.

Thanks a lot

I cover mine with a window screen, set a damp paper towel on it, cover it with foil, put a piece of foam craft board over the whole thing. The lamp and CHE are on a heat proof screen, I just use more foil to cover the open areas. Quick, easy and cheap. Humidity stays locked in!

As stated, cover it. Also, for night time, you should have a ceramic heat emitter for heat and no light. They should, have it dark at night.

I have my boxie enclosure covered completely with a clear shower curtain. I keep the substrate damp and a low wattage black heat bulb on in the middle of the enclosure. If I lift the shower curtain it is quite humid in there, as the air feels thick.

The deeper your substrate the more moisture it can hold. Your tort can dig down into the substrate to find moisture. Also, add a humidifier to your room. And hang a few wet towels in the room.

Those ideas should bring the humidity up 10% or more. Then the enclosed enclosure is best if you are in an arid area or your tort is young.

Wow. That seem Avery useful but I don't think I can hey that going. I've started trying to cover as much of the top as I can with a damp towel. We'll see how it turns out
