Happy Sunday everyone!

I have a 6 month old Hermann Tortoise in a large, fogged plastic tub. I had heard that they can’t comprehend opaque surfaces, so I tapped the outside with white tape so he can’t see through. He spends a lot of time walking around the edge of the tub, seemingly looking for way out. Is this normal? I can hear his shell tapping consistently on the side as he goes around. I can provide photos if you’d like👍 I have only had him for two weeks or so.

Welcome to the forum. Please remove the moss. They can eat it and get impacted. What lights are you using?

Basking bulb and a 10.0 UVB. Basking side is usually around 100° and other side sits about 80
We need to know the exact bulbs, since things like beam angle can affect tortoise eyes etc. Send photos of the packaging if you can, the photos can be from the internet
