What he saidBefore they lay their eggs, nearly all turtles prepare by making a nest on land. During the last weeks of gestation, the gravid (pregnant) female spends less time in the water and more time on land, smelling and scratching at the ground in search of the perfect place to lay her eggs. There are many signs that a turtle is gravid and needs to lay her eggs, & not all turtles will show all of these signs. Some things to look for include: The turtle is frantically trying to get out of the habitat. She may be trying to climb out the top, dig through the bottom, or climb up or swim through the glass....[emoji217][emoji217][emoji217]
