Hi, I know uva/uvb talks have been pretty extensive on here, but I still wasn’t quite sure on my specific issue. My Russian tortoise lives outside in a little house I built for her with a fenced in yard. Her yard doesn’t get as much sun as I’d like, so I still have a uva/uva bulb in her house. The issue now though is that, in all this heat (I live in North Carolina), her house is getting way too hot. Can I switch the bulb out for a lower wattage, or will she not be getting what she needs?

You don't need a bulb if she is outside. She is getting enough UV as long as the sun does shine into her yard. They only need about 3-4 days or a few hours of UV, so living outside there is enough.

Yeah I’d remove the bulb all together!😊

Don’t suppose we could get a photo of your set up? It sounds adorable🥰
