Awesome, thanks!Sand should not be used and I wouldn't use clay either. You could put fine grade orchid or fir bark on top and then tap that down into the coir just a bit.
Still furnishing this 8x2 enclosure out, need some plant ideas too for Mesopotamian Tortoises!

Back in the day when my first leopard was little, I grew grass and clover in just coir. It grew pretty good for being inside and walked on. I didn't try full plants though.Prob easier in pots, but if you plant in the substrate, coir alone won't work and you'd need to add compost to make it a more suitable growing medium.
