Water hardness

Does anyone know if there are any side effects if the water hardness is higher than average?

Maybe some mineral deposits on the shell after soaking/rinsing them but if it's potable for people you should be safe with your animals.

I have been using well water that is extremely hard, alkaline and mineralized for drinking and soaking for 20 years now with no ill effect. My tap water is also very hard and alkaline, great for African Cichlids, and no ill effect from that either.
