Weeds growing in my yard... plz help ID

Can anyone tell me what these two weeds are before I let my tort get anywhere near them. Wilmington, NC.Thanks!

The first one looks like horse weed. Its toxic to dogs and livestock, so probably not good for tortoises either. I pull it out by the root and throw it away.

I don't know the second one, but it resembles "dock" to my novice eye. Might have to let it go to flower to get a good ID, or take some to a local garden center and seek out the local plant nerd.
