What is a "spot" bulb?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I know what a strip bulb is, I know what a flood light is, but does that by definition mean this "is" a spot bulb, or is a spot bulb something specific? Using this as an example:

Just trying to understand if these are good or bad (these are the incandescent kind that are being phased out)...?

Those are fine to use, but must be used with a hood to focus the heat and light downward.

Those are just regular round bulbs. They are neither spot nor flood bulbs.

Spot or flood is a measure of how narrowly focused the beam of light is. Spot lights have a narrowly focused beam. These do damage to tortoise carapaces. Flood bulb have a much wider beam and tend to "flood" a larger area with light and heat.
