What is this and Is it safe?

Found these weeds behind our new house. It has blooms that look like a small pepper bloom. But the blooms turn into little green balls then they turn real dark almost black. Just wondering if its safe.

Is the stem spiny? It almost looks like nightshade ( poisonous ).

My first thought was nightshade, too. Maybe google nightshade and compare the pics to your plant.

That's deadly nightshade, and if you allow those green seed pods to ripen and turn purple, you will find hundreds more of the plants all over your property. Dig it up, don't shake it, and put it in a plastic bag in the garbage.
