Hi everyone! I was wondering what you guys thought were some good things to keep on hand for your tortoise? Like are there meds/special supplements you should keep like we do cold meds for ourselves? I just want to be prepared for as much as possible lol.

Thank you guys for any feedback!

Hello and welcome. I'm really a newer member too but to answer your question...I usually keep a reptile eye rinse made by Fluckers just in case his eyes show any sign of irritation. It hardly ever happens but they do live in dirt so I do. You could keep some supplements on your darling's diet. It would be nice if you could post some pictures of your tortoise.

Thanks for the good advise! I know things happen and animals get sick so I just want to be ready lol. I have calcium and vitamin supplements that I give him daily though ?
Here is my little Ghido! He is a giant south African leopard baby ?

Nice looking tortoise, It's not a big deal this time of year, but later on a backup heat source in case of a long term power outage during colder weather could be an important factor in your tortoises health. Also I wouldn't give supplements and calcium daily. Welcome to the Forum and Good Luck.

Oh I was told to sprinkle a little on everyday until he is older... what would you suggest? He was hatched this last October. It's the calcium + d3 powder.

And what kind of heat source? Like some battery powered room heater? Not too knowledgeable about that, I'm sorry ? but that is a crazy smart idea! I haven't really thought about that, but with tornado season coming up it's stupid not to!
