I wasn't quite sure where to post this, hopefully this is ok.

I live in Georgia and somebody found this tortoise, i am pretty sure it is just a wild turtle that should be re released but wanted to make sure.

Looks to be a good looking eastern box turtle.

Eastern box turtle. If you are able to let it go, that would be best. Maybe give it a nice warm soak in water for 10 mins. Then let it go where your friend found it. Looks healthy

If you do release the turtle, please try to release it as close to where it was found as possible. Box turtles are territorial and he will try to get back to where he thinks he belongs, and crossing streets, etc. will be dangerous for him.
