Where did THAT come from???

This morning right after I soaked Crystal, I noticed an extra scute growing between two existing scutes. I verified with pics I took 4 weeks ago and it was NOT present then. On the one hand, it means she's grown but, I'm worried about the cause. She's a 4 month old 3 toed boxie. What does it mean? Is something wrong???

Maybe it was just too small to be caught by the camera. Extra and split scutes are no cause for concern...even the ones that magically appear a month later.
