Went on a little nature walk....

The only wild turtles I've ever seen here in MA are snappers and RES....I'm curious as to what this little guy is! He had a very long neck, and I can't seem to find him via research of MA turtles (or is he a snapper??). Sorry for the bad quality! The ONE time I didn't have my camera (grumble grumble) and the lighting made the water reflection awful!

Almost stepped on this fatty! He still didn't move!

Some kind of water snake...

Common snapping turtle.

While I am at it, male bullfrog and banded water snake (I think - small screen).

LOL thanks! Yeah, we were debating whether it was a snapper or not....I've only ever seen the big ol' mama snappers coming up from the water to lay eggs, so this little guy threw me off :)

I was happy to see the bullfrog! We don't have many in the area anymore :(

i second both statements above, yes thats a snapper (which i someday hope to acquire one of my own), and that wild turtles are great.
