I am curious ... With keeping a humid enclosure if it makes sense to be concerned with mold . My 3 yr old tort has been sick pretty much since I got her but has progressively got worse. I have only had her a few months now. We have been to the vet and will be returning tomorrow for more test.
I built her enclosure out of an old dresser but started wondering if it is possible that the wood/material may be molding from the moisture and could be part of the problem. I went out and bought a 50 gallon plastic container and am going to set that up today . I know she needs a enclosure as big a possible but for now I want to keep her warm and humid to help try and get her healthy. Anyway , am I crazy to think the original enclosure could be part of the problem? I plan to throw every thing away! How do you keep the substrate from getting mold? Any advice would be great
to those of you who keep answering all my questions...thank you! I just want this poor baby to get healthy and enjoy a good life since its clear she has not been properly cared for before I found her:/
