So turtles can stay in groups of 3 but not in pairs of 2?

Okay I will do some research on the led strips. I would think strip lights an are better than bulbs because you can keep around perimeter of greenhouse roof no? And I already have UVB, CHE, & T5 . Therefore strips would also take up much less space than bulb with clamp lamp.

I don't know about turtles. I've seen similar issues with pairs of turtles kept in pairs, but I don't have enough extensive experience keeping multiple turtle species in multiple ways to comment intelligently.

Groups of three baby tortoises can work, but the issue becomes what to do when they get bigger. If you have two males or three males, you'll need three enclosures. If you have one male and two females, they will be fine as babies and fine as adults, but males mature faster and you don't want them harassing immature females, or breeding undersized subadult females, so you will still need three enclosures until the females reach breeding size. After that, your new hobby will be hatching, raising, and selling baby tortoises full time.

It's much easier to just have one. Or have two with separate enclosures. If you want more and intend to breed, I prefer to start with 6-10 babies. Then you will most likely have at least 3 juvenile females males and at least 3 juvenile males, so you only end up needing two enclosures. One for males and one for females.
