85ish is fine. In all honestly- the bigger issue is space. The larger the space the easier it is to offer good high/low temp ranges, but in a smaller space, it is tough to give a good thermogradiant.

Hot or basking spot of 90...The ambient air temp should be 80-82. You can provide a "cool side" but its not necessarily needed. If you do, about 75 or so for the cool side. The night temps can drop to 75-80 over the whole cage.

Rosie has a day basking spot of 90-93F, and an ambient temperature of 80-85. It doesn't let it get warmer than 87 on one end and 85 on the other without fans kicking on. Her night time temps are 80 on one side (CHE) and 75 on the other (no CHE). She has a humidifier (keep in mind humidity will affect temperature.. a wet 75 is way cooler than a dry 75). Her humidity is kept from 75%-85%, although when I do a weekly plant/substrate watering it goes up to 99%+ for a few hours. I figure it's how it would be in a real rainforest with periodic downpours...
