I have two Sulcatas. One is 75 lbs and the other is 51 lbs. I am finding it hard to keep them from tipping thier water bowls. Water bowl ideas???

I use this style dog bowl, this particular one holds 3/4 gallons. It sometimes gets moved around but has never been turned over in the years of use by my adult sulcata(s).Picture 1721.jpg

I have a 50 lb sully. As well as few other large torts.

Went to Home Depot , got the black rubber things that go under a water heater to catch leaks. I embed them level with the ground for smaller torts & leave em above ground for bigger ones. Cheap , work great.

Hello and welcome.

I use 36x24x3" pizza dough tubs sunk into the ground.

Whatever you use, you'll need to dig out a shallow hole and sink the water container down into the ground a little bit.

Also, it sounds like you have more than one water bowl, and I'm hoping these two live in separate enclosures. Pairs don't work out very well.

I use the top of a garbage toter. Dig it down into the ground so the top edge is flush with the ground, then no tipping possible.

I use these. They come in everything from 12" to 30". This is one of the ones I use for my sulcata enclosure. Big enough for my 175 lb. guy! It is also 3" deep, which I like.

I ordered one of the Tusco saucers today. I have two female box turtles. I have tried many things for their water area. Right now they have a ceramic bowl. I found it at a local garden shop. It is three inches deep but even though it is level with the surrounding terrain they have difficulty exiting because it is slippery. I placed rocks in it so they would have something to push against. But I think your Tusco saucer is a better idea. Also I have learned a lot from you. You have years of experience and you definitely have done years of research. I trust your opinion. Thank you Jennifer
