I do only see a 46" UVB and two dome fixtures. I think it would be a great addition if you added a double 46" fixture with perhaps two grow lights in for the ambient light. You could then shorten the amount of time you have the UVB on to just 4 hours or so midday and the entire enclosure would be much brighter. The reptile UVB lights we use are actually dimmer than a standard fluorescent tube would be as 40% of the "light" it produces is not visible light but UV. Tortoises do see a good portion of the UVA so it is brighter to him, but still for ambient, I think it is best to provide some additional lighting.

What are you using for a basking light? Do you only have one CHE, then?

Thank you for the kind words. The project certainly wouldn’t have come out this well without your help, thank you!

I actually just got the grow lights ordered yesterday. I went with the double bulb. I had considered skimping here but rethought it.

As far as basking, when consulting the breeder he suggested adding basking light later as the babies wouldn’t utilize until they were bigger. John being a successful breeder and a zoo med dealer I went with his advice as he could’ve just used the opportunity to sell me product.

Thank you again for the advice and time.
