A friend of mine from school recently got back from Panema city beach and brought a turtle home with her. The pet store she got it from gave her little to no information and now she’s realized she isn’t able to care for the turtle at this time. It’s killing me to not be able to take the turtle but she doesn’t even know the species so I thought maybe someone on here would know to help her out while she looks for a temporary home until she can take care of it. I can’t beleive they still sell these containers :(

Water turtles need a lot of room as they grow and can be pretty messy. I agree with Stuart, heat and uv are very important. And a bigger tank will be necessary to not overheat the baby.

Thanks for the help, know the species?

Just so you know, people who know how to care for water turtles call those plastic containers with the palm tree turtle death bowls. Tell your friend to set him up in an aquarium or large tub just as soon as he can.
