The last 3 leaves of a wild green very much liked by a certain Russian was dying by drought. Guess I could have just watered it when I walk one of the dogs, but I dug it up (it has a tap root), and potted it about two weeks ago. I'm very pleased. I hope to get seeds.

If we all would think like this but when the weeds are in abundance, we would have edible weeds for most of the winter, but no, we all are excited to have the tortoises graze on them in the warm months, we don't dig them up and try to grow for winter
I think you were smart replanting it and not just watering it.
Good luck on getting the seeds.

What is it? It looks like dock or curly dock to me.
