Oh yeah, is your tortoise going to overnight in that enclosure? If so, a proper shelter is needed to protect your tortoise from the elements and potential predators.

No, not at the moment. That is the next thing I am planning on doing. I have all the components for the heating. I just need to either build a box or find something suitable to use. I have been looking at Toms figured I would build something similar, I was just going to shrink it a little bit.
Don't shrink it. The 4x4 boxes are only 39x39 inches inside, and that's not a lot of room. I've seen many people make smaller versions, and there are always issues.

Even for a single cherry head?
Yes. Those designs work perfectly with that size and those heating elements. I've dabbled with shorter and smaller and it just throws things off and doesn't work as well. I've made boxes for Russians and other small species, and the 4x4 works best for any size. I'm about to make a bunch more 4x4s to attach to some big outdoor cages for my spiny tailed iguanas to live outside in.

I converted one of the hides onto a underground tunnel. I was able to get a couple of photos of him exploring it today.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate you guys feed back. The fact that you guys think he is beautiful as well mean alot to me. I am sure you guys have seen your fair share of tortoises... Lol.
In all honesty I don't know if he is male or female. I thought he needs to be bigger to figure it out? I call him a boy but named him Crimson. I kinda thought it could go both ways if he turn out to be a female.

I would carefully guess, Crimson's gonna be a male. But I'm unsure - first two photos are saying "female" and the last two - "male".
