I think he’s look to just get two for now? maybe a trio down the line, perhaps they could keep one of the babies once old enough to sex, that’d be nice🥰they’d certainly be a lucky trio in the enclosure @Mrgeez has built! It’s awesome!🐢💚
My goal is just a pair for now. After i “get my wings” with this tort hobby, i wanna move the hermanns and the established juveniles to an outside living area, probably inside my greenhouse. Then use the enclosure to obtain a “rarer” species and breed them also. Maybe Egyptians!

Are you saying that 2 females and 1 male could possibly cohabitate?
What size is the enclosure? Each adult hermanni will need around 4x8 feet, or more, if you want them to remain healthy and viable.

Check in with torotisesupply.com to see if he has any larger adults or juveniles for sale. He won't sell an unhealthy one.

66 sq ft. “L” shaped. I have space for 2, but can easily add on for a 3rd.

What are you Looking for in a tortoise?
I am looking for a healthy pair of hermanns. From reading countless articles, i believe hermanns and russians are the best “starter species”. I am 68 and don’t think i have the time in life to start with a hatchling, hence i would like a breeding pair to start with. I only desire to breed this pair once, to learn whats needed to be successful. Then move on to another “rarer” species. If you look at some of my previous threads, you will find I am completing a nice enclosure. I was “schooled” by many members here on this site and have followed 100% of their advice and recommendations.
From your comments, I am already mentally planning to add on to my enclosure to house 3 hermanns instead of just a pair.

You May have to wait a long time someone on here may need to rehome them, but if you are still in a rush buy them there!

Hermanns are not "big" on the rescue circuit in the US. Russians and Sulcata are a dime a dozen, but not Hermanns. I appreciate you wanting a rescue, I never like to discourage people from rescuing, but you'll have to look pretty hard to find someone giving up a pair. Not impossible though.

Not sure if @EppsDynasty has any in his rescue that he is looking to place, but could try there

Since you have never taken care of a tortoise, in my opinion, you should get ONE. only one, and get good at at caring for it, at least a year, then worry about adding on.

Maybe. But, i live on a farm for 35 years and am quite responsible for taking care of animals
