Personality differences between Hermann's and egyptians

My current eastern Hermann's is very outgoing and walks up to you to say hi and it's very adorable. You can scratch his shell and he shakes into it and scratch his chin

I may be in the market to acquire an Egyptian and I'm curious if they would have that same personality and charm. Do any of you have experience with Egyptians? Are you able to interact with them much?

I don't know anything about Egyptians, but I strongly believe that all tortoises have their own personalities. And it's up to you if the tortoise interacts with you or not.
I have four torts, and I spend at least 30 minutes a day with each of them. And all of them show me signs of emotions (some sort of reptile's emotions )

I haven't heard Russians to be shy per say. At least mine doesn't have any fear for me anymore. But with wild caught Russians you might never get them to like being handled let alone be scratched on the shell etc. In that way they can be a less social species.

I would say it depends....My wild caught Russian loves to be touched, he falls asleep on my stomach while I gently scratch his head. But my girl (who was severely abused by previous owners) is still adjusting. She's much better now than she was, but I can say she still have trust issues....

Yeah, it depends but I personally wouldn't call them a shy species.
