Hello guys

Another topic on calcium. Would you consider this calcium powder ( it is agricolture lime) safe to make blocks of it?

That is for fertilizer use, not direct ingestion. Fertilizer lime is to raise the pH in soil. It is different than the calcium you need for your tortoise.

This is not Hydrated Lime! That is why i posted the specifications. It is natural organic grounded calcium with ingredients on the picture. I am not sure if it is for turtles, that is why i asked! People are using this for horses, pigs or other farm animals, that is what i know.

We can't read that label. I would not use this for tortoises.
Why you cant read it?

PH in factory H20 ---- 9,6
Ca ---- 38,8%
Ca0 ----- 54,3%
CaC03 ----- 97%
Mg ----- max 0,6%
Mg0 ----- max 1%
MgC03 ---- max 2%

I'm not sure how to interpret this numbers:
Overall calcium is 38%, out of which 54.3% is CaO (oxide?), out of which 97% is calcium carbonate?
If so, what's other 62% in composition?

Because the words are written in a language that I do not know.

Yeah. The numbers don't make any sense. Adds up to much more than 100%.

Here is how I would translate the lable:

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION

pH in distilled H₂O 9,6

Ca min 38,8%
Expressed as CaO min 54,3%
Expressed as CaCO₃ min 97%

Mg max 0,6%
Expressed as MgO max 1%
Expressed as MgCO₃ max 2%

Neutralization value (NV) I min 54,9

Um, ya . . with all that said, I WOULD NOT consider using it for my tort's. To many other reliable sources for calcium which are not questionable..
