That's pretty cool...37f right, for this time of year?
They tried forcing social medicine here too and thankfully the insurance companies were so greedy that once their champion left office they bailed because they love selling individual policies. LOL
Maybe that guy in the movie Wall Street was right.."greed is good.....". What was his...Gordan Gecko....

It just started raining and we are having dinner outside under the gazebo...its nice. Kerry is bringing it out....later

I remember Selena as a cute disney kid but i haven't followed her career.

I'm hoping for sunshine tomorrow. I have decided to sell one of my vintage bikes and want great pics. Pray for sun!

You do have a good point Lyn. Jetpacks would be great but we all see how people drive. . YIKES!
No career left for Selena

I went grocery shopping today and they had spices buy one get one free. I bought tumeric and curry so I'll be trying your suggestion and others. So thank you too. I get really bored with the same old recipes. And since we all have to decide what's for dinner every day for the rest of our lives we must spice it up or die in boredom.😊🐢
Cathie do you have ACE hardware stores near you? The stores in Michigan carried spices for a unbelievable price. I know it seems weird for them to sell spices. The two I lived by Michigan sold them. But we are talking 20yrs ago.

I love Ace hardware stores and I think there might be one newly opened in my town. I haven't been able to get out and about for awhile. I think I heard about one though recently and will check it out. They always have some pretty good tools and all kinds of stuff. Spices wouldn't surprise me. They're kind of like a farm store with all kinds of unique things.

Pretty normal here.

Unfortunately the heating still isn't switched on in my apartment. The temps indoors have gone down from 25 C (77 F) to 21 C (69,8 F) in the last two weeks. It is still all good and warm indoors, but I wonder how much the temperatures will drop before they switch the heating on.

Wow, under 70F is chilly for buildings. In the Northeast US, they typically turn on the boilers on Oct 15th and the chillers (for cooling) on either April 30 or May 15 depending on the city. I would have guessed that in Finland the heat would be turned on earlier than here in the US. Lol..so much for intuition.

Ray...you met her....like lightning in a bottle. You can't predict... I just have to stay 2 steps ahead of her. How's that leg doing? You've been quite again buddy....

I think that the heat usually is turned in earlier, it is just that my housing cooperative is trying to save money. The usual temperature for indoors here is about 21 C or 69.8 F. We really don't have any chillers here.

This is one of our community piers. When it was installed they forgot to cut the piling shown underwater low enough. It hangs up so i installed the 6x8 chock piece lastnight. This is high tide so i wanted to make sure it didn't hang up today. At low tide 20" of that lower piling will be above the water....that happened today at 330pm.
Even though they took my cape away due to age, I still get called for this stuff....i found myself calf deep in the muck standing next to the piling with my 20" gas powered chain saw. Wow....it took a while as Kerry had to run home for tools so i could adjust the chain halfway thru. It wasnt like normal wood! Whew!

Are you allowed to use your own portable heaters? I use a mini oil heater just to take the edge of the chill.

Good morning all.
My car is in the garage for it's MOT test to make sure it's still roadworthy so fingers crossed everyone! 🤞
I really hope it passes or I'll have to make a big decision about whether to spend more on it. I think I've already spent more on repairs than it's worth this year, yet it's too good to be scrapped. Let's just hope it passes. 🙏
It's a lovely sunny, autumn day here. I hope you're all having a good day where you are. TTFN

Well I had everything crossed for my little car, but it still failed the test. 😢 I haven't heard from the garage yet but I went onto the government MOT check website and can see that it failed because

'Nearside Front Service brake excessively binding (1.2.1 (f)'

That could be really expensive - at the least £180ish but could be a lot more and I really don't know if it's worth spending more on it.
What a shame😭
I think I'll make my way to the garage so that I can speak to them about it. I am so disappointed, but nothing I can do now.
Anyway TTFN

Dear Lyn,

I'm so sorry. Not knowing much about cars I hope it can be repaired.

Thanks Natrah, it's got to go back in next week so that they can see what's going on. It could just be something is stuck and could easily be freed up 🤞🙏 or it could be something far more expensive 😟.
The mechanic said it was worth having done because it's too good to be scrapped or sold for parts which would the only other option.
I've had to bring it home so it's ok to drive for short journeys, but the MOT runs out Sunday so I can't use it then.
