Hello. I hope you and your turtle are always healthy and happy 🌹🐢🩷
I read some posts from other users and could not find a post about Mauremys caspica turtle enclosure. That's why I'm asking a few questions in this post.
If you can, please help me.

1- Is the enclosure better to be plastic or glass? My current enclosure is glass. And I haven't had any problems so far. I remember reading somewhere before that it shouldn't be glass because the turtle sees its own image and gets stressed. Is that true?

2- According to the photos I see of my turtle species on the internet, these species live in places with shallow water. My current enclosure is dry and blue, but it's very small and I want to make it bigger. My question is, should I make the water part shallow? Or deep?

3- Should the height of the enclosure be such that the turtle can get out with a little effort if it wants to? Or should it be high enough so that the turtle can't get out? (The room where the enclosure is located is also controlled. That means there are no dangerous things like electrical wires, etc. that could threaten the turtle.)

Turtle size: 16*14

Thanks for any help

A picture would help. A small pond would be awesome with half land half water, but if a tank is what you have to work with, by all means. They are simi-aquatic so you should have a little more water.

We often time think shallow as a few inches, but in actuality a shallow environment in nature could ankle or shin deep.

@DoubleD1996! you can see the tank in post #3 in this thread:

A size upgrade is definitely needed.
