So I've been trying to heal my baby sulcata from a respitory infection for about 2 weeks now and I've taken him to the vet several times which they didn't want to give him an antibiotic because he is so little.
Finally today which is poor dozers 4th vet visit they have me ceftazidime injections to give him.

Has anyone ever used this before on any of their torts??

Ceftazidime is much milder than the more common Baytril. It is used with success. Be sure to keep the baby hydrated. Soak him daily while he's getting the injections...maybe even twice a day - for about 15 or 20 minutes each time.

Set him up in a smaller hospital tank. A 10 gallon aquarium is good for this purpose. Keep the temp in the tank at about 85F day and night. I would even cover it to keep the cooler air from the house out. But be sure to keep soaking him and be very watchful of the temperature in the tank. Don't cook him.

One of my boxies had a respiratory thing going on when she was 7 months old. My vet was hesitant as well due to her small size at the time so we went with oral antibiotics instead of injections.
