I am getting ready to hibernate my Russian tortoise in a box. What is the best substrate. Someone told me they use Timothy Hay Incase they wake up, they can eat it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i am new to having a RT. In San Diego it is around 79 in afternoon and 63 at night. Should she be hibernating. It’s going to be in 80s tomorrow, but so cold at night. What’s the right thing to do?
