    PLEASE HELP!! Hibernation Query!

Thank you so much for your reply! So would that two week period be like a mini-hibernation? Would I need to fast them before hand? And how likely is it that they'll be fooled into thinking its spring when they awaken? I am beginning to think that I should begin to fast them for 4 weeks before...

    ProRep tortoise food

Hi everyone! :) I have two Greek spur-thighed tortoises - Botsworth and Hoardsley (who are absolutely lovely). They are almost 18months old and until now I have always fed them fresh greens from the garden/local area. Sadly the cold weather in the UK at the moment is making it hard to find...

    Skin peeling!

Hi everyone, Botsworth, my 10 month old Greek tortoise woke up this morning with a small piece of white ish skin peeling off the centre of her face. I've read that this may just be normal, as tortoises shed their skin in sections... Is this right? Should I be worried? I have attached pictures...

A few questions (flipping and plants)

Hi everyone! I have two lovely 9month Iberas; Botsworth and Hoardsley. Recently they weren't eating as enthusiastically as usual, but thanks to the forum I solved that problem - I had been turning off their lamp for short periods during the day when no one was home to check on them, incase...

    Help! Less interested in food

Okay I shall leave the lamp on all day! Is there a chance that it can get too hot for them... Is 110F too hot? Or will they just move away from their basking area to cool down? Also, what plants do you recommend to help them right themselves? With the lamp on all day I'm worried that they'll...

    Help! Less interested in food

The temperature of the house (day and night) is about 70-75 F. When the lamp is on, the temperature is about 95-105 F. So is it best to leave their lamp on all day, even if no one is at home to check that they haven't fallen onto their backs? Thank you for your help! :) [hr] And yep I bathe...

    Help! Less interested in food

My two little Iberas, who are 9months old, are normally so excited at dinner time! They don't stop eating until everything is gone.. pushing each other out of the way in order to grab the last bit of food! But in the last few days food no longer seems to be that interesting to them :(...

    Worried mummy :(

My 8 month old Iberas have a bath everyday, and it seems that once or twice a week, while in the bath they release a white substance into the water - and it's always either partly or fully gritty :( I've read that this indicates dehydration, and it should be more like egg white, is this right...
