Does anyone know what these plants are? Are they safe/ good for a Russian Tortoise?

Is it mating season for Russian Tortoises? I only have one male tortoise and he is starting to hump or mate with his rock in his enclosure. I assume this is a normal activity even without a female around.

So in Maryland today we are experiencing 60 mph winds and my power went out at some point today so my little Walter has thought it was bedtime since all his lights are out. How do you keep a tortoise on their normal schedule without electricity to power their lights?

Walter always has access to water but rarely uses. I do give him a bath every other day as well to ensure he is hydrated. I am in the process of building his a new enclosure right now that is much bigger!

What should the humidity in a Russian tortoises enclosure be? With it being winter time my enclosure is around 20%-30%. I have read so many conflicting things. Some say to have it around 50% and others say 30%. What do you all recommend?

But I have read that the uva and uvb rays get distorted when they shine through a glass or mesh top. I have a mesh top but do not use it for that reason.

I do soak him everyday or every other day. How do I increase the humidity? When ever I spray the soil with water it just evaporates and doesn’t change the humidity.

What should the humidity be in a Russian tortoises indoor enclosure? I have soil as a substrate and it is completely dried out now so I am getting readings in the 20s. Is that too low?
