Yes I agree. Shower curtains are cheap and waterproof but not really heavy enough to prevent digging from damaging them.People are using shower curtains?! That seems like a bad choice.
Thank you! I will continue w this liner
Also if it is for an adult or a juvenile makes a difference on if you need a closed chamber or if open top will work. To build a closed chamber correctly sometimes the cost grows to the point that buying something already made becomes cheaper. Just an FYI and good luck going forward.People are using shower curtains?! That seems like a bad choice.

Is this the shower liner everyone is talking about? I have a Russian tortoise, 6 years old. He likes to dig in corners. Should I do this lining with linoleum? Or is this plenty coverage?
I am making an enclosure out of a heavy wood entertainment console.

This will be his foreseeable future residence. He all free roams when it’s warm enough inside but Chicago has been so cold the tile is freezing for him

Should My Tortoise Be Allowed To Roam around on the Floor of my Room?
Ascott said: To let a tort roam our habitats or not? Always a question that will offer up a bunch of opinions, stories of what happened to some, stories of how dumb it is and success stories....so if you see the trend here, it is that folks do alot of different things based on their own lives...tortoiseforum.org

I’m a little late to this thread, but do want to add, whilst I completely understand the notion of wanting your tortoise to get out and exercise, it really is best to have them in an appropriate sized set up so they can remain in their enclosure. Tortoises aren’t domesticated like our fury companions, they feel most comfortable and safe in habitats that best mimic their own, I go a little more in depth in the housing link belowOf course!! He’s very monitored.
Everything is a danger. But he’s gotta live a little. Get some good exercise and itch his exploration itch
