IMG_0425.jpegIMG_0423.jpegHe’s been to the vet last month got medication for a small bit of snot it’s been cleared up, took fecal sample said he’s good, tested him said he’s good, mind you we have no specialist in our area and my car is broken I was inspecting him as he lost a small scale on his arm, went to see his back side and noticed small amount of pink/redish, I know they have a horn spur but I’ve never noticed the red pink ish part, looked it up and google is saying my guy has blood poisoning? But he’s been checked up on to the best of my local vets ability, just spent 800 on him for a vet check up and to be honest I haven’t been working the last couple months since moving back to my province, hardly finding work and I’d spend thousands on this guy to make sure he’s better but I can’t afford it right now and I need a more trusted opinion on this, I know some pinkish and red can be normal for indoor Russians and he just came out from his indoor winter enclosure, too being fully outside again, so I’m stressed to be frank sorry for my **** grammar I’m really stressed rn

I am concerned about the pink on his plastron, but I am not the expert here that others are. Let's see what some of the more experienced members have to say.

I’ve been told this can be normal to an extent, some back story on my boy, he’ wasn’t in my care for the first 4 years of my life he’s a rescue and he’s been healing and doing really amazing the last 3.5 years in my care. Now mind you I got none of this info from the other owner, I’ve been told by local vets ability to their knowledge, as they kinda do a bit of everything and a specialist is in another country for us so not doable, this last winter tho was a long one for us and it’s been a issue since,

He was attacked by a rottie and, and had light bubs you buy at a hardware store for your room as a heat lamp for I’m assuming his whole life, when I got him he was a paperweight, 30 grams I believe at 4 years old, he has gained a respectable 340 grams since being in my care and had nearly no problems with his shell aside from the bite marks and some shell rot/ or heat lamp burn. Not sure as it’s cracked and chipped but almost looks like a burn

And by an issue since is he got some lung sickness that has since been cleared up, but the weather isn’t wanting to stay nice so I’m not able to get him out sooner, I give him 8 hours outside and then the night inside, to not make his sickness come back

If the tortoise is eating, pooping, and moving about normally, the pink areas do not indicate septicemia. I wouldn't worry about that condition for this tortoise.
Would there be a reason for this ? Why it’s so pink ? Don’t think it’s normal for how people react

It is most likely from new growth getting ready to happen. New bone growth is heavily infused with blood vessels which can make the area look reddish or pink.

Believe me, your tortoise is not septic or it would not be moving around and eating normally, etc.
