Hi everyone, it has been FOREVER since I have posted but I am worried that my baby ate something he should not have. My husband let him wonder today and I caught him eating some leafs from my night blooming jasmine plant. It appears he got in about 5 to 6 bites, I googled it and I am getting...
I have a leopard, he always waits patiently for his breakfast, I love when he stretches his neck out looking for me. I also love to watch him drink. He doesn't do much but I love to watch him :)
Thank you Chris!
I was also wondering, amongst all my reading, I had read somewhere that Leopard tortoises usually have urates vs. urine. I have not found any sign of urates in his enclosure or in his soaks, which is 99% of when he has a bm. Could he just be urinating regularly in his...
Hi everyone!
Just wondering when the egg tooth should disappear. And does that indicate somewhat of the age of the tortoise?
Also, Do they hear? I have him close to a radio and if he can hear I really don't want to bother him.
Oh and one more....I know flipping on their back is not good...
When I first got him he wouldn't eat at all, I contacted the breeder he told me to do the romaine daily, to make sure he is getting his calcium and multivitamins. He will eat some of the spring mix but mostly the romaine. He also like hibiscus leaves. I got him some Mazuri today, that I am...
I am so jealous;) I wanted a big old beast like that, I would name him Elvis and sing Hunka Hunka Burnen Love to him every day :P
Not that I don't absolutely LOVE my leopard.
Well I did some more research and found out leaves were ok to eat, so I broke a little up. He did not like it!! He took a bite, spit it out and walked away from it. So I gave him Hibiscus and he gobbled that up. So I answered my own question, yes it is ok to give but may not like.
I have a baby leopard, I noticed his stool is loose the past few days. He is eating mainly romaine but also some spring greens. Not sure if it is normal or if I should be concerned. Any suggestions? Thanks
I searched the forum and other site and they say cauliflower is not a good choice for diet, but I was wondering about the green leaves that surrounds the head of cauliflower?? Any advice?
Looks like it is getting a bit infected to me as well. Could something have fallen from a tree and pinged him just right. Or perhaps a bird scooped down for him. Not sure where you are but I have hawks and eagles that have attempted to take puppies, and baby goats.
I just started using the coco coir, and I don't like it either. I think this weekend I am going to switch to something else. It seems like I am forever pulling it off of My Mr., and I am concerned that he might be eating it.
I wonder if the bracelets like cb birds have would work. They would have to be updated with size as the tortoise grows, but someone could brake it off too. Maybe they can do the chips like they do in dogs, it's just an injection under the skin. ????
I also vote The Hobbit, always been one of my favorites. They are also remaking the movie, so the students can go see it and then appreciate the book even more because it is ALWAYS better.
Could it also be the season change, I know they say that they slow don some in the cooler months. Not sure where you are but I know here in Florida the mornings are cooler and the days are a but shorter. Perhaps it is a combo of the illness, meds, and seasonal change. None the less, best of...
