    Tortoise calcium block necessary?

Hi all, Wow it's been a long time since I've been on the forum. I need to update pictures of Pebbles! So I've had Pebs for a little over two years now and everything has been going fairly smoothly, but I do have a concern in regards to calcium. I feed her a mixture of kale, dandelion greens...

    Fruit flies in Tank

Hi all! I have Pebbles the Red Foot Tortoise whom I am currently keeping indoors in a 40 breeder tank. Recently I've noticed that there are little bugs flying around in her tank. I'm thinking they're fruit flies but am not positive. I'm not really sure what to do to get rid of them! Any ideas?

    Reptisafe or Bottled or Distilled?

Hi all, I have a juvenile Red Foot, Pebbles, and I was noticing that although I treat her drinking and misting water with Reptisafe there are still hard water spots on her enclosure. Seeing these spots I tried to find something online, as usual it was very difficult, so I figured people would...

    How smooth is smooth?

I may be a little paranoid, but I'm completely freaked out that Pebbles may develop pyramiding and it legitimately is my biggest fear (other than Salmonella). So I posted a picture a while back of when i first got her, and then I was told to stop feeding her protein pellets, and I read that too...

Stormy weather keeps Red Foot in

For the past day or so (cold the past few weeks) it has been crazy storming in Sacramento where I live. Because of this I haven't been able to get my Red Foot Pebbles outside! I do have her under a powersun for twelve hours a day and run the red light at night. Will she still be okay until it...

Does anyone know how old my Red Foot might be?

Great! Pyramiding is literally my biggest fear for her! I got her about two and a half months ago! Also, this may sound like a dumb question, but how often do I feed her each day? I've read a lot of mixed ideas about feeding, some say once a day, greens as much as her shell is round, others say...

Does anyone know how old my Red Foot might be?

So this is Pebbles, I took her to a reptile store after I got her to see if they could figure out about how old she is, they said about one year but weren't too confident about that. I'm not sure if any of you can tell by her size but if you can that'd be great! I have attached some pictures...

    Pebbles' Food

Awesome! Thank you a so much! She does spend a little time outdoors, otherwise she has a 100W Powersun that I run for about 12 hours a day. I'd say she spends about an hour a day outside! I'm so happy to hear that her diet sounds great, and I did read the articles on the Tortoise Library (thank...

New to forum with little Red Foot!

I decided on a Red Foot because I had recently moved and all of a sudden there were Red Foots available in the area. I'd been looking to get a tortoise for a while now, and when I saw the Red Foots I fell in love! They're beautiful and they don't get nearly as large as the Sulcatas which I...

    Pebbles' Food

Hi all, I'm very very new to the whole tortoise keeping deal, and I've had my little Pebbles about two months now(she's a red foot). I've read SO many different things about what to feed her, and I've been to a few different reptile stores that are all telling me different things. I'm confused...
